Our Parents for Change Fellowship is a transformative leadership development program, empowering parents and caregivers who have successfully completed the Birmingham Talks program to become change agents and literacy champions in their communities. Selected fellows form a nimble collective committed to improving kindergarten readiness and economic mobility, each receiving a stipend for their invaluable contributions.
Launched in December with six dedicated members, this dynamic fellowship is already making waves. Our inaugural fellows are Shay Oden, Kristy Plump, Alexis Dantzler, Lakeidra Mims, Jasmine Cleveland, and Alexis Lillie. This dynamic group recently had their first training session with our team, gearing up to facilitate their own Birmingham Talks groups in 2024.
We’re excited to witness the impact these leaders will have on early literacy in their communities. Stay tuned for updates as our Parents for Change Fellows continue to cultivate positive change and foster a love for literacy within their personal ecosystems.
