Raven Johnson’s commitment to equitable outcomes for children and families led her to start her career as a Teach For America corps member. She taught high school English for five years, where she was named 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year at the school where she taught. Currently, Raven serves as the Program Director at Small Magic, a nonprofit that helps children under 5 build lifetime literacy. Under her leadership of the program team, programs have increased the number of children served by forty-seven percent and diversified program offerings. Raven holds a B.A. from Auburn University and an M.Ed. from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a member of the inaugural LeadEarly fellowship class and is active in the community through Rotaract, Prosper, and the United Way Early Learning Action Network.
