Birmingham’s future begins with our children.
At Small Magic, we believe every child deserves the very best from the very beginning, and the strength of our community is tied to the opportunities we provide for our youngest learners. When we invest in early childhood, we are investing in a thriving future for our city.
That’s why we’re launching the Magic Makers Collective, an opportunity for individuals and families to come together in support of Birmingham’s children and collective future.
This collective is made up of dedicated community members who share a common belief: that Birmingham can be the best place in America to raise a child under five. Magic Makers help drive the innovative, research-backed programs that Small Magic provides to ensure children, parents, and educators have the resources they need to succeed.
Magic Makers provide a foundation for Small Magic’s work, helping us bridge the gap between possibility and reality. Through their support, we can:
- Expand evidence-based early learning programs so more children have access to high-quality education from the start.
- Provide parents and teachers with real-time tools, like talk pedometers, to foster brain development and enrich early learning experiences.
- Distribute high-impact books and educational toys to spark curiosity and instill a lifelong love of learning.
- Develop and test innovative strategies to ensure children acquire critical skills that will shape their futures.
And being a Magic Maker comes with its own kind of magic: members receive tickets to our annual Storytime celebration, exclusive updates, a behind-the-scenes tour of Small Magic’s initiatives, an annual bookclub dinner featuring a special guest, and more.
At its heart, the Magic Makers Collective is about community. It’s about coming together to invest in the future of our city and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. The children of today are tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs, neighbors, and friends. By supporting them now, we shape the Birmingham we want to see in the future.
